lyrics

The moon hits a lake full of stars
Our cosmos, a grand lunacy
Together with no company
We stare at the faint light of mars

As I lie here safe in your arms
With no reason to face any fear
From the sounds that fill up my ears
Far from home, with no old faces
Wander off to distant places
Finding truth to make it all clear

The sun, the moon, and earth
In chaotic harmony
The stars, the sea, and the sky
All at odds, discordantly

The sun runs its course for the day
Receding for solace at night
Awaiting return of it’s light
So we can return to the fray

Never stop, never rest, never break
Never think of what could’ve been
Cause the truth often seems obscene
Always running out of time
I try to find a pantomime
To free me of my selfish quarantine

The sun, the moon, and earth
In chaotic harmony
The stars, the sea, and the sky
All at odds, discordantly

The earth sits alone in the wake
For terribly long, till it dies
A slow but entropic demise
The universe’s grand mistake

A life lasts a blink, give or take
In the grandiose scheme of it all
When two new arise, one will fall
Nothing lasts beyond its limits
The firmament is such a cynic
Still we try to rise above it all

The sun, the moon, and earth
In chaotic harmony
The stars, the sea, and the sky
All at odds, discordantly

How much are we worth?
Just a drop within a pond
How long will we last?
Just a blink and then we’re gone
